Long-Term Overestimation

Dear Interweb,

Not surprisingly, logging into Amber's profile has quickly become more entertaining than logging into my own. I can see myself feeling bad down the line about the POF men coming forth with their hearts on their sleeve.

On the other hand, 99% of the messagers don't even seem to care which of the 2 girls in the main profile picture has actually signed up for POF. I need to figure out how to use this to get extra Psych credit...

Yours truly,

Patience VS Perseverance

Dear Interweb,

I don't know why I'm surprised at the amount of messages that my alter ego profile is getting. Not to mention instant messages.

New project idea: answer with only "what do you mean?" and "you're smart." and see how long the POF-er will hang on in the hope of one day maybe getting sexted.

Is Amber too cliched of a name? I think not.

Dec 27th - A Monster Is Born

Dear Interweb,

Today I experienced a rare moment. Out of power of suggestion, or reluctance to edit down my POF profile more to incorporate more of the same junk, I created another profile. Maybe this is the profile that I wish I could have. Maybe I just want to see if I can reel in a part of the male population that would never message me. I don't think that's it, though. I'll have to wait and see what happens....

Here is me :

Here is... not me:

http://www.plentyoffish.com/viewprofile.aspx?profile_id=24539025

This creation has the same birthday as me, the same height. Her hair colour is different, and although our bodies are probably very similar, I have mine listed as "average" where she has hers listed as "thin."

Her interests include horses and teeth whitening. She desperately wants children and can't wait to have them pronto, so her husband can hire a nanny.

As you can imagine, she has already received more messages in half an hour than I did in my first week on POF. At last count, there were 30. This doesn't include the barrage of IM's attempting to date rape her over the internet. To give the male population some credit, a few of the guys have messaged with disgust or scepticism. I've decided to let those individuals in on the joke.

I have to admit I'm a little curious to see if there is any crossover between the profiles. That'll be a deal-breaker.

Here are some samples:

" How are you doing? I like your profile. You look great in your pictures too. I also share many of the same interests as you do. I would like to get to know you."

"hey how are you today?how has your holidays been so far?:)"

"Hey there, hows it going?

If you had to listen to just one
song for the rest of your life,
what song would it be??"
